POLICIES

cancellation/ no show
By booking an appointment you acknowledge that you have read & agreed to the cancellation / no show policy. All new customers are required to pay a 50% deposit upfront - please note this is non-refundable. Once your appointment has been confirmed you will receive an email & text confirmation. You will then receive a text reminder 24 hours prior to your appointment. I completely understand that life happens and sometimes re-scheduling an appointment is necessary. If you do need to re-schedule your appointment, please give 24 hours notice - this allows me to try and fill your space. Any cancellations that are made within 24 hours of your appointment will incur a late cancellation fee of 50%. This is necessary to help cover costs & losses as a small business. Thank you for your support.

fleas
I do not knowingly accept dogs with fleas. If fleas are found on your dog, the groom may be stopped. An additional £10 charge will be added to the cost of your groom - this is to cover the expense of the products that I will need to use to flea treat the salon. Please check your dog for fleas before the appointment, if you find fleas - please message or call to reschedule. Please give over 24 hours notice to avoid a cancellation charge.

matting
Under the Animal Welfare Act (2006), it is an offense to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: this includes prolonged "de-matting" which is painful & affects the welfare of the dog. If you bring in your dog and it is severely matted or matted in multiple places, we are required by the Act to clip your dog short humanely or refer you to your vet to do the same. Matting can cause serious health complications if left and can cause great discomfort to your dog therefore shaving the coat is the kindest solution for your dogs welfare. Removing matting can be lengthy and can cause damage to our equipment, therefore we do have to charge a matting fee, which will be discussed with you upon inspection of your dogs coat.
With proper at home maintenance and a regular grooming schedule we can work to prevent the matting of your dogs coat.

Your dog & the groomers well- being
It is the owners responsibility to advise us of any medical, physical or emotional issues along with any aggressive behaviours, allergies or sensitivities or pre-exisiting health conditions that the dog has prior to the groom taking place. We do not accept dogs that are pregnant or have transmissible diseases: this is for the safety of your dog and others. The groomer reserves the right to stop the groom, cancel the groom or refuse the groom if there is risk of injury to the groomer or to your dog. Please ensure your dog has been to the toilet before coming in to the salon, a relieved dog will be more comfortable for their grooming session. There is always a possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is extremely sharp. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including: cuts; nicks; scratches; quickening of the nails etc. I agree to allow Koda & Co Dog Grooming to obtain medical treatment for my dog if it appears that (s)he appears injured. This would be a veterinarian practice suitable at the time of need. As the owner I agree that I am responsible for the costs of any such medical treatments given to my dog.
